Verve Fitness leaves rivals behind in awards

Written on the 11 September 2022 by Marshall Hall

A Gold Coast fitness equipment manufacturer that is kicking goals after securing major sports partnerships has scored another award win.

The Upper Coomera-headquartered Verve Fitness Equipment, which in July added NSW Waratahs Rugby and NSW Rugby Union as partners, has won the Health and Wellbeing category in the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards for August.

Company founder and chief executive Niall Wogan said the business had grown very quickly since it was established in November 2018.

He said Verve, which also has partnerships with athletes such as Olympic gold medallist Sally Pearson and AFL great Barry Hall, had now sold items to more than 50,000 customers.

These sales included entire fitouts for commercial gyms, both nationally and overseas.

“We started the business in a small warehouse in Nerang and we grew at exceptional speed. Within 18 months we moved into a 2300sqm facility in Upper Coomera,” he said.

“I think a major reason for our growth has been our focus on innovative products, premium quality, and our commitment to social responsibility.”

Mr Wogan said the company manufactured a wide range of gym equipment at its Gold Coast factory and it was committed to producing high quality, Australian made products.

He said it was an honour to receive a Gold Coast Business Excellence Award for the second year in a row.

The August winners in the other categories of the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards were:

  • Mayor’s Innovation GC Award: Resly
  • Education, Training and Employment Award: Digital Surfer
  • Emerging and Micro Business Award: Twomey Dispute Lawyers
  • Family Business Award: Gold Coast Barges

  • Manufacturing Award: Morlife
  • Construction and Trades Award: Dynamic Hydro Excavations
  • Professions and Services Award: MWM Advisory
  • IT and Digital Business Award: Clarity IT for Business

The awards, now in their 27th year, aim to foster pride in the city’s business community and highlight its important as a business hub. Some of the city’s best-known companies can claim to have been winners.
