Jeweller Shines in Awards Victory

Currumbin-headquartered YCL Jewels, which now exports to more than 90 countries, has collected a Gold Coast Business Excellence Award.

Company founder Fabienne Costa accepted the Retail, Wholesale and Distribution Award for May at a ceremony held at the City of Gold Coast council chambers. The event was attended by some of the city's most powerful business and political leaders including Mayor Tom Tate, Deputy Donna Gates, Federal-member elect Angie Bell, and State Member for Broadwater, David Crissafulli.

YCL's jewellery is now popular around the world and are worn by well-known celebrities including Delta Goodrem, Jennifer Hawkins, Megan Gale and singer Lorde. Each piece of jewellery is designed by Ms Costa.

Ms Costa, who also hand-makes many of YCL's pieces, launched the company in 2013 and now employs seven people in the Currumbin-headquartered business.

The awards, now in their 24th year, aim to foster pride in the city's business community and highlight its important as a business hub. Some of the city's best-known companies can claim to have been winners.

Monthly winners in each category then vie for the annual awards, including the coveted Gold Coast Business of the Year, to be awarded at a gala event in November.
