Inspiration At Home spices up business awards

Molendinar-headquartered international spice company Your Inspiration At Home is showing it has the recipe for success after securing a major business award.

The company, which sells its range of 168 food products through 4000 consultants in Australia, United Kingdom and the United States, has won the Emerging Business category at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards for May.

Your Inspiration At Home chief executive and founder Colleen Walters said the company was now looking to expand further, with New Zealand and Canada in its sights for 2014.

Ms Walters said in 2013, in its third year of operation, Your Inspiration at Home grew its revenue to $4 million.

Your Inspiration at Home manufactures 168 gourmet food products ranging from herb and spice blends, spices, seasonings, dukkahs, meat rubs, oils, vinegars, teas and coffees.

Ms Walters said the company was focused primarily on time-poor users who wanted convenience in the kitchen but still wanted gourmet meal options.

She said in the past 3 years the company had manufactured more than 500,000 products and it was now sourcing ingredients from all over the world as the company’s operations rapidly increased.

Another Gold Coast company enjoying major export success, M-Tech, claimed the honours in the Mayor’s Innovation category.

The Coomera-based company manufactures products including service pedestals for marinas and caravan parks, electrical distribution systems, emergency service equipment, sanitation pump-out systems and outdoor lighting.

M-Tech, which has been trading for 18 years, is no stranger to winning awards having been named a winner of an Australian Marine Industry Best Export Performance award for two years running.

In the other categories, Turners Engineering claimed the Family Business honours, Knotwood sealed the win in the Manufacturing and Construction award, 5 Star Timbers won the Retail, Wholesale and Distribution award, Cruise Guides Australia led the way in Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Gemini Accident Repair Centres polished up the Trades, Professions & Services trophy, Hirum Australasia booked themselves a spot in the finals in the Knowledge Management & IT section, e-CBD scored top spot in Environment and Sustainability and Artius showed healthy form to claim the Health and Wellbeing honours.
