Evolve Skateboards races to another victory

Written on the 3 August 2018 by Gold Coast PR Company Consulting Hall

Internationally expanding Gold Coast-based Evolve Skateboard has claimed another award victory.

The Varsity-Lakes headquartered company, which now sells designer electric skateboards in 30 countries, was named the winner of the Manufacturing category for the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards for July.

Headed up by Jeff and Fleur Anning, the company last year was named the winner of the Queensland Export Award and it has been named in the BRW Fast 100 list for the past three years.

It's a far cry from when the company first started in a Broadbeach garage in 2011. Struggling to find corporate support, the Annings had to sell their family home to fund the start of the business.
Now the business is flying, and the company is set to host its third annual Evolve World Cup in San Diego, California over three days in September. Hundreds of passionate Evolve users will converge on the city to take part in the three days of racing and celebrating.

Gold Coast Business Excellence Award president Ian Cousins said Evolve Skateboards was a strong example of what local businesses were achieving throughout the world.

"The Gold Coast is very well known as a major tourist destination but what many people don't realise is that it is also emerging as a major business hub,'' said Mr Cousins.
"Our awards serve to honour and highlight amazing success stories such as Evolve Skateboard."
