Mayor's Innovation GC Award: Coffee Roasters Australia Coffee Roasters Australia specialises in supplying high quality coffee roasting equipment. Coffee Roasters Australia was established in 2002 largely as a distributor for Coffee Roasting machines to the Australian market. The company has evolved to now design and manufacture coffee roasting equipment, coffee roasting software, and the wholesale manufacturing of coffee capsules for a variety of coffee roasting customers.
Environment and Sustainability Award: Planit Consulting Planit Consulting provides professional town planning, environmental planning and landscape architecture services. Established in 2000 the company now has three offices, Nobby Beach on the Gold Coast, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
Family Business Award: Annabel Trends Annabel Trends is a designer, manufacturer, importer and wholesaler of specialty goods. Starting on the kitchen table of Ann Dawe in 1967, Annabel Trends now manufactures and sells more than 500,000 items a year from a range of 2477 different products. These include gardenware, kitchenware, giftwares, homewares and children's toys, to name a few. Their products can be found in more than 3000 stores and they export to six countries.
Health and Wellbeing Award: Medical Rescue The Medical Rescue Group has continued to grow exponentially since starting on the Gold Coast in 2011. The Group provides an array of services encompassing air ambulance services to the private insurance sector, rescue training services and remote clinical services. Since 2014, Medial Rescue has begun investing in research and development of new innovative aircraft loading systems and stretcher systems, using carbon composite materials.
Trades, Professions and Services Award: KDR Gold Coast In mid 2014, the G:link, an exciting Light Rail system on the Gold Coast came alive, linking people and communities along the coast. The G:link is operated and maintained by KDR Gold Coast (KDR), which was established in 2011. In this time their workforce has grown from 1 to 150 workers, all of whom have completed tailor made training programs to match their roles.
Retail, Wholesale and Distribution Award: BLK Initially launched as KooGa Australia on the Gold Coast in 1999, BLK is now an international sports apparel business. BLK is best known for its partnerships with professional sporting clubs throughout Australia and overseas. However they also provide quality equipment and apparel for thousands of grassroots clubs, teams and athletes throughout the country.
Manufacturing and Construction Award: Evolve Skateboards Evolve Skateboards is a leading manufacturer of top quality electric longboards, with distribution and support centres now servicing more than 30 countries worldwide. The Evolve brand is all about quality, performance and the endless carve. Their mission is to make the highest performance electric longboards possible and to provide all the best skate accessories needed to maintain top shelf performance.
Knowledge Management and IT Award: SEO Web Logistics SEO Web Logistics is an Internet marketing and web design company that has brought the very best techniques into the 21st century. Their staff understand what is needed to get fantastic results for their clients and have proven it many times over. Originally opening in May 2013, SEO Web Logistics have now opened offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Hong Kong.
Tourism, Hospitality and Events Award: Timezone Surfers Paradise Timezone Surfers Paradise is the largest indoor family entertainment centre in Australia. Located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, their centre covers an area of 5000 sqm and entertains more than 1.2 million visitors each year. In 2014, they won the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions' (IAAPA) Award for best Family Entertainment Centre in the world a first for an Australian business in this category.
Emerging Business Award: GANDEN Engineers and Project Managers GANDEN is a specialist consultancy that provides engineering and project management services to government, mining and resources sectors, construction industry and industrial clients. GANDEN has particularly developed a reputation for providing high quality engineering services to the water industry. GANDEN is proud that the City of Gold Coast, which includes Gold Coast Water, is one of its key clients.
