Mayor's Innovation GC Award: HiRUM Australasia HiRUM is a developer of property management software that creates a complete solution for accommodation providers. The software covers the needs of accommodation providers from the initial reservation and administration of guest right through to distributing hotel inventory throughout the world. It is suitable for any size property. Last year, HiRUM was approached by Google to partner in their Google Hotel Finder project. As a Google partner, HiRUM provides clients a direct-to-property booking opportunity and gives them prominence on Google searches without reliance on Online Travel Agents.
Environment and Sustainability Award: Brauer Industries John Brauer set up Brauer Industries in 2004 with a goal of reducing chemical usage through a variety of commercial applications. The company is now one of Australia's leading manufacturers and distributors of ozone-based products for commercial and residential water sanitation and air purification. Brauer Industries has produced, patented and proven the effectiveness of their Ozone technology across a large portfolio of products such as sanitation systems, pool cleaners, pumps, filters, chemical controllers and odour control systems.
Family Business Award: Coast 2 Coast Earthmoving Coast 2 Coast Earthmoving is a family owned and operated business that has been in operation for 48 years. The business was started by Kevin Bycroft in 1967 and he was soon joined by sons Robyn and Ross in 1969. In 1998 the reigns were handed over to the third generation of Ross Hildebrand, Reagan Bycroft and Greg Bycroft. The company now has operations on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast and they have a fleet of 400 earth-moving machines in south-east Queensland.
Health and Wellbeing Award: Artius Artius helps people and businesses reach their potential by providing allied health services, employment services, community services and training services. Operating since 2004, they help more than 8,000 people every year throughout Queensland and partner with Government and businesses to manage and deliver health and human service programs. Artius partners with business to help them recruit, retain, rehabilitate and achieve results with their people, in addition to partnering with individuals and communities to help them reach their potential.
Trades, Professions and Services Award: Ray White Surfers Paradise Brothers Andrew and Greg Bell started the Ray White Surfers Paradise in 1989 with one office. The group has now grown to 15 offices, encompassing 24 divisions with a team of 240 staff. The Ray White Surfers Paradise Group services all aspects of real estate sales including residential and commercial, property management, marine, strata management, new projects and international marketing. Ray White Surfers Paradise Group has maintained their position as number one international sales office for the Ray White Group for the past 23 years.
Retail, Wholesale and Distribution Award: Manolas Bros Delicatessen Located at Capri on Via Roma, Manolas Bros Delicatessen is owned and managed by Con and Steve Manolas. Inspired by their Greek heritage and memories of long tables of mezze plates at Mediterranean-style Sunday lunches, Manolas Bros Delicatessen shares their family's love of Mediterranean style dishes that provides a significant range of both international and locally sourced food and dishes.
Manufacturing and Construction Award: NTS NTS Group is a well-established pipeline contractor specialising in hot tapping and pipeline construction equipment. Over the past 8 years NTS has rapidly expanded their knowledge and developed expertise in providing a range of services for the water, waste water and mining sectors. They have helped deliver some of Queensland's most challenging pipeline infrastructure projects over the past 5 years. This includes the Gold Coast Rapid Transit Project where the team relocated and installed a range of pipelines over 24 hour shifts throughout the Gold Coast CBD.
Knowledge Management and IT Award: ONGC Systems ONGC Systems is a provider of IT services, disaster recovery services and repairs and IT plans (encompassing business growth) to small-to-medium enterprises. The company has achieved 20 per cent-plus year-on-year since before the Global Financial Crisis. The company is proud of their supplier relationships with companies such as Microsoft, Acer, Netgear and many others.
Tourism, Hospitality and Events Award: Kokoda Youth Foundation The Kokoda Youth Foundation is a registered charity that provides transformative youth programs, team events and outdoor education camps. Central to the Foundation is the courage, endurance, mateship and sacrifice displayed by Australian soldiers on the Kokoda Track in WWII. The foundation's flagship event is the 96km Kokoda Challenge. The event now has up to 10,000 competitors and support crew taking part per year on the Gold Coast.
Emerging Business Award: All Pro Australia Engineering and Construction All Pro Australia Engineering and Construction is a leading supplier and manufacturer of fascade products to the building and construction industry. Initially a domestic fencing company, All Pro Australia is now one of the State's largest commercial balustrading and manufacturing companies. All Pro specialises in commercial and residential Gold Coast construction projects ranging from $1 million to $10 million in value. The company now has 30 employees and hopes to grow to 50 employees by mid 2016.
