Who's Who list wines and dines

A Who's Who list of the Gold Coast business community attended a private lunch in the KPMG boardroom last week.

The lunch for last year's winners of the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards included heavy hitters Norm Rix (2016 Business Hall of Fame Inductee), Max Christmas (2010 Business Hall of Fame Inductee) and billionaire developer Bob Ell.

The lunch, hosted by KPMG Gold Coast managing partner Adam Twemlow also featured Councillor William Owen-Jones, Michael McGee from the bus manufacturing arm of Transit Australia Group and Timezone director Juan Uribe, whose company was named the 2016 Gold Coast Business of the Year.

But among all the business heavyweights in the room, the star of the day was without doubt Damien Rossiter from IT company ONGC Systems.

"Damo" as he is affectionately known as, turned up to the lunch fitted with a halo frame. It turns out he broke his neck during the Christmas break in a bicycling accident on Hedges Avenue.
